Students recognized at Piedmont year-end assembly
Apr 12, 2018Principal Ethan Dschaak recognized numerous groups of students including those who are members of Teens Against Tobacco Use and the student council, science fair winners and those on the honor roll and those with perfect attendance.Also honored were 15 sixth grade students who received the President’s Gold Award for Education Excellence, the purpose of which is to recognize academic success in the classroom. The students receiving this award also demonstrated high motivation, initiative, integrity, intellectual depth, leadership qualities, exceptional judgment and outstanding attendance. The President’s Gold Award for Educational Excellence went to Logan Ammerman, Jordyn Bass, Autumn Cassen, Glory Christianson, Brooke Eckert, Trevor Erlenbusch, Seema Gassman, Brett Gummo, Mazie Hoffman, Trinity Kistler, Gabriel Nelson, Hugh Peldo, Daylen Rhodes, Jillian Sutton and Trei Williamson.Receiving the President’s Silver Award for Educational Achievement were sixth-graders Cody Emick, Abigail Harmon, Trevor Keierleber, Jazlynn Smith and Sidney Yeager.Outstanding citizenship awards were presented by the American Legion to one sixth grade boy and one sixth grade girl possessing high qualities of courage, honor, leadership, patriotism, scholarship and service. Recipients of these awards were Trevor Erlenbusch and Autumn Cassen. Making the presentation was Curt Nupen, commander of the Piedmont Valley American Legion Post 311.
